Operation Redemption

Faith-Based Recovery for Veterans

24-Week GPD Program
Mission: Empowering veterans to reclaim purpose and stability through structured, compassionate recovery—without leaving anyone behind.

Why This Matters

Despite extensive national efforts, many veterans still struggle:

  • An estimated 35,500 veterans experienced homelessness in 2023; the rate has actually increased by 7.4% despite major VA housing initiatives VA News.
  • PTSD affects between 15% and 30% of homeless veterans, often co-occurring with mental health disorders and substance abuse Wikipedia.
  • Substance use disorders are widespread: over 80% of veterans with SUDs abuse alcohol, nearly 27% abuse illegal drugs, and around 20–35% of those with PTSD have a co-occurring addiction North American Community Hub+6veteranaddiction.org+6Wikipedia+6.
  • Suicide remains a major concern: Nearly 20 veterans die by suicide each day, and veterans are about 50% more likely than civilians to die by suicide after adjusting for age and sex PTSD.va.gov+1Wikipedia+1.
  • Traumatic Brain Injury heightens risk: veterans with TBI had suicide rates 56% higher than those without, and suicide trends among TBI-affected vets increased dramatically—by roughly 14.8% per year from 2006–2020 Mental Health VA+10jamanetwork.com+10usmedicine.com+10.
