Our Process at Fire Missions Veteran Services

“Leave No Veteran Behind”
At Fire Missions Veteran Services, we work hand-in-hand with VA coordinators and trusted community partners to
identify veterans who may benefit from our transitional and recovery programs. Our process is designed to be
streamlined, compassionate, and veteran-first.

Step 1: Apply Online
The journey begins with a simple online application. This allows us to gather initial information and assess how we can best support each veteran.

Step 2: Intake Coordination
Once we receive the application, our intake specialist will connect with the veteran—alongside VA coordinators—to determine if one of our programs is the right fit. We consider each veteran’s needs, goals, and readiness for the structure and support we offer.

Step 3: Eligibility Screening
If approved to move forward, we will initiate:

  • A background check
  • A drug screening
  • Collection of essential documents (e.g., ID, DD-214, benefit information)

We also conduct an initial intake meeting—typically over the phone—to ensure readiness and clarify expectations.

Step 4: Placement
After all requirements are completed, we aim to place eligible veterans within 24–48 hours at one of our housing facilities. Our goal is rapid stabilization and immediate access to support.

Alternative Support

If a veteran does not meet our program criteria, we remain committed to helping them connect to the appropriate services. We provide referrals and work collaboratively to ensure no veteran is left behind.
At Fire Missions Veteran Services, our mission is clear: to walk alongside every veteran—whether in our program or through our network—until they find the hope, structure, and support they deserve.
